Highlights of Special Events and Performances

A number of rich and meaningful special events were offered during Annual Conference, including:

Celebration of 50th Anniversary for Women's Full Ordination Rights
Highlighted throughout the conference sessions, with a special celebration on Thursday evening, we remembered and honored some of the amazing stories of pioneers and saints who paved the way and how New England led the denomination in many ways!

Africa University Choir
After a powerful keynote speech by Bishop Felton May (see the June 10 Daily Christian Advocate), thirteen Africa University students joined us on Friday morning and blessed us all with their gifts and musical ministry. Following the mornings agenda, the Choir also treated us to a lunchtime concert!

Sardines and Biscuits - A Musical Miracle

The Camp Mechuwana Players (Jr/Sr High youth) presented the musical Sardines and Biscuits, retelling a familiar story of Christs feeding of the multitude set against a backdrop of greed, corruption, oppression, and marginalization of those on the fringes of society. Attendees contributed to an offering for UMCOR and an ingathering of food donations.

Sardines and Biscuits affirms the belief, born of experience, that when we give thanks for what God has given us and we offer it up to Jesus, there IS enough to go around!

Daily News Updates from the Conference Floor

A special conference newspaper was created in partnership with the Boston Wesleyan Association at Annual Conference this year. The daily editions carried highlights and news from the conference floor.
